Mixed feelings about this
Jon and his staff were exceptionally friendly, accommodating our early breakfast request with a lovely packed breakfast to go. The fjord view from our balcony room was stunning and memorable.
The walls between rooms felt thin, allowing for conversations from neighbors to be easily overheard, which dampened our experience at times.

the room was a total disappointment, consisting of a wet bathroom that took forever to dry, and skimpy towels to dry off with. i expected a complimentary gesture for this inconvenience, but i guess they only cater to the unprivileged. i almost gave a good review but just couldn’t. what a letdown.

The location is phenomenal, with stunning views of the fjord and proximity to the beautiful 19th-century wooden St Olaf's church, making it a perfect spot for our group of trekkers. The hotel provides lovely outdoor sitting areas, ideal for relaxing after a long hiking day. Additionally, the included breakfast was a fantastic spread that fueled us for our adventures, and the manager was incredibly accommodating by preparing an early breakfast when we needed to leave.
The walls between rooms felt a bit thin, allowing for some noise from neighbors at times.

What a charming hotel! Pristine rooms and stunning fjord views made my stay quite delightful. The helpful owner even offered to carry my bags to the boat terminal – now that’s service with a smile!
But oh dear, the walls are so thin, I could practically join the neighbors' book club! And don't get me started on the ancient decor—more nostalgia than luxury.

I stayed in a Double Room or Twin Room for 2 nights. The room had a nice view, but the walls were paper thin, so I definitely heard some conversations from neighbors. The furniture felt a bit dated, but it was clean and comfortable enough. The outdoor areas were lovely to hang out in, which made up for the room's lack of modern touches.

It was just an appropriate option for a lightning stop in Balestrand with good price-quality ratio. The outdoor areas were surprisingly nice to relax after a long day of travel. Close the drapes if it gets sunny to keep cool.

charming vintage ambiance, clean outdoor areas, antique decor
The dated decor felt more like a museum than a hotel, and the thin walls made it impossible to enjoy peace and quiet!!! The dim lighting in the room left a lot to be desired!!!
